Engagement: Brookside Gardens, Silver Spring, Maryland
These Brookside Gardens engagement photos were taken in October during sunset. Brookside Gardens is in Montgomery County, Maryland. The couple knew each other back from elementary school. Throughout their childhood they were friends and started dating in college. Dating was a bit difficult for them as it was a tad bit of long distance within the state. They shared their relationship was important and distance was not going to be an issue.
About Brookside Gardens:
Brookside Gardens is Montgomery County’s incomparable, award-winning 50-acre public display garden situated within Wheaton Regional Park. Included in the gardens are several distinct areas: Aquatic Garden, Azalea Garden, Butterfly Garden, Children’s Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Style Garden, Trial Garden, Rain Garden, and the Woodland Walk. The Formal Gardens areas include a Perennial Garden, Yew Garden, the Maple Terrace, and Fragrance Garden.
Brookside Gardens also feature two conservatories for year-round enjoyment.
Admission to the gardens is free. Service animals are welcome at Brookside Gardens, but pets are not allowed.

For those who plan to do a photoshoot at the Brookside Gardens, please check the Brookside Gardens Photo Policy & Permits Website. The permit FAQs will be your best guide for this. Look under “Do I need a photo permit? and “How do I get a photo permit?“. There is a downloadable Photography and Filmography Session Request form. You can purchase your photo permit 6 weeks in advance. This will ensure you receive the proper documents to photograph there.
Weddings, private receptions, and corporate retreats are welcome.
