Wedding: Kualoa Ranch – Moli’i Gardens in Oahu, Hawaii
Their Kualoa Ranch Wedding at Moli’i Gardens in Oahu, Hawaii was on a humid September day. The bride was getting ready at Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club in Waikiki and the groom was getting ready at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. They did a first look and took photos at Kualoa Ranch. Afterwards, we made our way toward Moli’i Gardens for the ceremony.
On the radar was a rain storm and I asked the couple, “what is the back up plan?” They responded, “it rains all the time in Hawaii – and will likely pass by quickly, so we will embrace it”. I would say this was the most Notebook style wedding I’ve ever been to.
Before the wedding, I asked the groom, “Why did you decide Hawaii for your destination wedding?” He replied, “I had a college roommate who was from Hawaii, I’ve visited a few times, and I love the food and landscapes. Although, my fiancé has never been there, we felt like it would be a good place to recall our memories year later.”
From the couple: “For many of our friends and family looking in from the outside, it has probably been a long time coming for you to say, “Finally!” While it certainly wasn’t what either of us expected, we are both glad that we have taken the long(er) journey for close to three years before we decided to say “yes” to each other. We both have learned a tremendous amount about each other, our quirks, our habits, our abnormalities, and what makes us laugh. Above all, we have learned what it means to trust in God. While it may be cliché to say that ‘Our Story’ is about God, it really has been. I think for both of us, we can honestly say that if it wasn’t for our relationship with God, we would not be here today asking you to join us at our wedding.”
They say you surround yourself with people who have common values and I was able to see that. Many of your friends treated me as if I knew them for years, so I thank you for that.
