teamLab Borderless – Tokyo, Japan

teamLab Borderless Tokyo is a world of artworks without boundaries, a museum without a map created by art collective teamLab.

teamLab Borderless is a group of artworks that form one borderless world. Artworks move out of rooms, communicate with other works, influence, and sometimes intermingle with each other with no boundaries.

Immerse your body in borderless art in this vast, complex, three-dimensional 10,000 square meter world. Wander, explore with intention, discover, and create a new world with others.

It is always on the list of top things to do in Tokyo.

teamLab Borderless Information, Hours, and Ticket price

As of now opening times are:
Mon – Thu 10:00- 19:00
Fri, Sat & Holiday Eves 10:00- 21:00
Sun & Holidays 10:00- 20:00
These hours may vary depending on the season so check their website just in case.
Last entries are one hour before closing time.
Japan has their own set of holidays and, to me, random holidays every month.

I think the last thing I’d suggest is to purchase your tickets online and enter as early as possible to avoid the crowds.
There is no time limit to be there, so enjoy your time.
Tickets cost Β₯3200 / around $32 per person and can be purchased here.
I’m not sure if they offer a night pass anymore as it was only during a few summer months.

My Impression

This “engagement session” was planned super last minute.
I didn’t plan on photographing anyone here.
I was going to just check it out by myself but, hey, why not take photos in a cool location like this, right?

I recalled seeing an documentary about teamlab the company. They do some extraordinary designs and intrigued me. Then the exhibits kept popping up on my Instagram feed.

There are a few locations where their exhibits are held: Shanghai, Macao, Singapore, San Francisco (coming soon). I was confused on the exact location, but nevertheless I recall the documentary talking about the one in Tokyo.

While I was doing their actual engagement session, they asked me if there was anywhere I was planning to go see or visit while I was in Tokyo. I normally don’t do touristy things while I’m in Japan since I typically visit and see family, but I had a day off the next day.

Coincidentally they were planning on going as well so we decided that we would all go together. Actually, to be honest, I just forced myself into their plans lol. Yay forever third-wheeling!

We ended up spending about 3 hours there – it was totally worth it πŸ™‚
It’s is a really nice place to visit, take a date, take photos, and explore.
The one in Tokyo is huge and you can definitely spend all day there.

Enjoy these photos~!
It’s something different but I hope you like them~!

PS: Thank you for the sick new profile pic
