Wedding: Cherry Blossom in Washington DC
About the couples Cherry Blossom Wedding:
Their Cherry Blossom wedding took place in Washington DC at the Tidal Basin. We started in the early morning on a March day as the cherry blossoms came a bit early that year due to a warmer winter. We were hoping for a sunrise around 7am, but the sun did not come out to greet us that morning. The sun would pierce through the clouds around 8am. The wedding photoshoot went flawlessly, albeit, a bit cold and windy. The last few photos in this set include Japanese Magnolias alongside the Jefferson Memorial walkway.
Prior to the elopement, they had done all of their paperwork for their marriage license. Technically speaking, they were already legally married, yet they never had photos taken together. They imagined the Cherry Blossoms would be a perfect backdrop.

National Park Service Permits for your Cherry Blossom Wedding:
For those who plan to do a photoshoot at the Tidal Basin, please check the NPS permits website. The permit FAQs will be your best guide for this. Look under “Which kind of permit application do I need for my activity tab” and find the “Commercial Filming and/or Photography” form. While it doesn’t take long to process and obtain the permit, doing so 1-2 weeks prior will ensure you receive the proper documents to photograph there. The Tidal Basin is a high-volume timeframe for National Park Services.
